The BBC has released three new photos from the upcoming Easter special of Doctor Who, Legend of the Sea Devils<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The story will see the return of the titular aquatic cousins of the Silurians (and we reckon the Doctor will call them Homo Reptilia, harking back to Chris Chibnall’s first Silurian story, The Hungry Earth\/ Cold Blood<\/em>, back in 2010). This will be the first time we’ve seen the Sea Devils since 1984’s Warriors of the Deep<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first image shows the Thirteenth Doctor (Jodie Whittaker) with companion, Yasmin Khan (Mandip Gill), with both sporting snazzy new looks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then we have Madame Ching (Crystal Yu), the so-called “Pirate Queen of China”, who was born in 1775 and died in 1844, in surprisingly peaceful circumstances, apparently surrounded by family — surprising because that’s not how most renowned pirates meet their eventual fates!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And now, take a look at a Sea Devil, looking much the same as when we last saw the species, albeit their fishing net rags have had a bit of an upgrade!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yes, okay, you’ve seen that last one before. Namely, at the very start of this article. Still, looks cool, right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The BBC is yet to announce when Legend of the Sea Devils<\/em> will hit screens, but we know without confirmation that it’ll be Easter Sunday, i.e. 17th April 2022. You can celebrate by eating lots of chocolate eggs!<\/p>\n
