New showrunner, Russell T Davies has teased that not everyone will get out alive in an upcoming Doctor Who<\/em> Series 14 episode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the BBC released new photos of Drag Race<\/em> winner, Jinkx Monsoon, as a new, as-yet-unnamed villain (who RTD promises is — stop us if you’ve heard this one before — “the Doctor’s most powerful enemy yet”), Davies enthused<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Jinkx Monsoon as\u2026 well who can that be?! SO much fun! So much terror! And not everyone is getting out of this alive\u2026”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

If we presume that the Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa) won’t die (which is a fair assumption, but may be jumping the gun), which we might infer means the end of new companion, Ruby Sunday, played by Millie Gibson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But of course, she won’t die. Come on. Russell isn’t going to announce the death of the next companion before she’s even debuted on TV. And especially not on Instagram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So what does this mean? A trick? Perhaps. The Eleventh Doctor (Matt Smith) “died” at the start of Series 6, specifically in The Impossible Astronaut<\/em>, before the season finale, The Wedding of River Song<\/em>, undid that damage. Actually, he also died and got erased from time in The Big Bang<\/em>. Arguably The Name of the Doctor<\/em> too. And the Twelfth Doctor died repeatedly, i.e. probably millions of times, in Heaven Sent<\/em>. And in The Doctor Falls<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Look, there’s a lot of death in Doctor Who<\/em>, so it’s no great shock that not everyone is “getting out of this alive”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thinking about it, Davies could even mean Monsoon’s character…<\/p>\n
