The BBC has (accidentally) confirmed that Doctor Who<\/em> Series 14 will air in Spring 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly, the corporation has revealed that the festive episode will be a Christmas special, as suspected, to screen in December this year. That quashes rumours that it will air on New Year’s Day, like the Thirteenth Doctor episodes including Resolution <\/em>and Eve of the Daleks<\/em>, and reinforces the idea that the series will get its regular Christmas Day slot back under new showrunner, Russell T Davies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a now amended statement<\/a>, the BBC<\/a> said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Three hour-long special episodes of Doctor Who will be available from November 2023, with a Christmas special dropping in December and a new season in Spring 2024.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The last section, about Series 14 being in the spring, has since been deleted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ncuti Gatwa is expected to make his proper debut as the Fifteenth Doctor in this year’s Christmas story, although he’s extremely likely to appear in at least one of the 60th anniversary stories too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Millie Gibson will star as new companion, Ruby Sunday, too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Though the episodes will be on BBC1 for anyone in the UK, a new streaming deal with the House of Mouse means fans worldwide will get to see new stories on Disney+, apparently at roughly the same time as their UK airings. Older episodes are available to US viewers on HBO Max. More details of this partnership are still to be revealed, so we don’t 100% know how it will all play out, but we won’t have long to wait in order to find out…<\/p>\n
